Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions guests ask most often before they arrive, written out in full rather than compressed into a policy table. Most questions guests raise at the desk are answered somewhere on this page, from what to have ready at check-in to how extra beds are charged and which cards the hotel accepts.
If something here affects your plans, the front desk is staffed 24 hours and would rather hear from you before you travel than solve it in the lobby. Upper floors are reached by stairs only, so any accessibility requirement should be raised while you are still choosing a room.
Getting through the door
The hotel is used to guests arriving at odd hours, since most people reach Marina El Alamein by road and the coast road decides its own timetable in summer. The three notes below cover arrival, departure and what the desk needs from you.
What time is check-in, and what do I need to bring?
Check-in runs from 3:00 PM until 12:00 AM. Guests are asked to provide an expected arrival time in advance, which is genuinely useful rather than a formality: the desk uses it to have your room ready and to know whether to expect you before or after midnight. Photo identification and a credit card are both required at check-in, so keep them accessible rather than packed at the bottom of a case.
Arriving outside the check-in window? Call the front desk before you travel - it is staffed 24 hours and can advise on what is possible for your booking.
How does check-out work?
Check-out is available 24 hours, which is unusual and worth taking advantage of. It means an early departure for a flight from Borg El Arab or a late one after a final morning on the beach can both be arranged without paying for an additional night or waiting for a desk to open.
Is there a minimum age to check in?
There is no age restriction for check-in at the hotel. Identification is still required from the guest whose name the booking is held in, along with a credit card, and both are checked on arrival rather than in advance.
Travelling with children
Families make up a large share of guests here through the summer, so the policies are written with them in mind. Two of the three notes opposite involve a cost or a constraint, which is exactly why they are set out plainly.

Are children welcome at the hotel?
Children of all ages are welcome at the hotel, and the property is set up for them in practice as well as in policy: family rooms keep a group of four together, the games room holds board games and puzzles for the occasional windy afternoon, and the garden and terrace give parents somewhere shaded to sit within sight of the courtyard.
How much does an extra bed cost?
Extra beds are available on request at US$30 per person, per night, subject to availability. They are not included in the total booking price and are charged separately, and the number permitted depends on the room you have selected, so a request in a Deluxe Double will not be treated the same way as one in a Family Suite. Ask at the point of booking rather than at check-in so the desk can confirm what your room allows.
Can I request a crib for an infant?
Cribs are not available at the property. Guests travelling with an infant should plan for this in advance, either by bringing a travel cot or by discussing the room arrangement with the front desk before arrival so nobody discovers the constraint on the first night.
The last three things to check
Nothing below is complicated, and all three are the kind of detail that is far easier to resolve a week before arrival than at the desk with luggage at your feet.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not allowed at the hotel. This applies across all room types and there is no arrangement for boarding animals on the property, so alternative plans need to be in place before you travel.
Which payment methods does the hotel accept?
The hotel accepts Visa, Mastercard and Maestro cards as well as cash. A credit card is required at check-in regardless of how you intend to settle the bill, since it is used to hold the reservation rather than only to pay it.
How should I make a special request?
Special requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Anything that will shape your stay - a specific outlook from the balcony, an extra bed, adjoining arrangements for a larger group, or a floor reachable without stairs - is better raised while you are booking, when the team still has room to work with, than on the day you arrive.
The front desk answers around the clock
If any of the notes on this page leave a question open for your particular booking, the desk is staffed at every hour and would rather answer it now. Reserving directly gives you live availability for your dates and a place to record your arrival time, extra bed request or preferred outlook while it can still be arranged.
