Marina El Alamein, Gate 5

The hotel sits inside Marina Village at Gate 5, a short walk from the shoreline and close to Porto Marina on Egypt's North Coast. Being inside the village rather than on the coast road is what keeps the property quiet, while still leaving the beach within a few minutes on foot.

Every distance quoted on this page is approximate and actual travel distances and times may vary, particularly through the high summer weeks when the coast road carries far more traffic. Treat the figures below as planning guidance and confirm transfers with the front desk before you travel.

How far everything actually is

Rather than a table of numbers, here is what each distance means for a stay. The figures are approximate, and the front desk is the right place to check anything that affects an arrival time, a transfer or a train.

Porto Marina El Alamein beach

Approximately 200 metres from the hotel, which in practice is a walk of a few minutes rather than a journey. Guests tend to go down after breakfast, come back for the middle of the day, and return once the light softens in the late afternoon.

Porto Marina

Approximately one mile away. Close enough for an evening out among the shops, cafés and waterfront without committing to a long drive, and the reason many guests choose to base themselves at Gate 5 in the first place.

Al Alamayn train station

Approximately five kilometres from the property. If you are arriving by rail rather than driving, this is the closest arrival point, and the front desk can advise on the short transfer once you know your train.

El Alamein International Airport

Approximately 62 kilometres away, and the nearer of the two airports serving this stretch of the North Coast. Travel time varies considerably with the season, since traffic along the coast road in high summer bears little resemblance to spring.

Borg El Arab International Airport

Approximately 77 kilometres from the hotel. It usually offers a wider choice of flights, so it is worth comparing both airports against your dates before booking transport.

Marassi Marina

Approximately 17 miles along the coast. Far enough to be a day out rather than an evening stroll, and a straightforward drive if you want to see more of the shoreline than the stretch immediately outside Marina Village.

Around the North Coast

Most guests spend the majority of their stay between the hotel gardens, the pool terrace and the beach, and the marina itself supplies the evenings. When you do want to go further, this part of the coast rewards a day out: the shoreline runs west towards Marassi and east towards Alexandria, and the history of El Alamein sits a short drive inland from the water.

For planning, two official sources are more reliable than aggregator listings. Experience Egypt publishes the national tourism board's guide to the North Coast, covering what is open through the season, and the Egyptian Ministry of Defence maintains the page for the Al-Alamein Military Museum, which remains the single most visited cultural site in the area.

Both open in a new tab so you do not lose your place here.

Stay a few minutes from the water

Booking directly through our reservations page shows live availability and rates for your dates. If you are arriving by train or flying into either airport, mention your expected arrival time when you reserve so the front desk can have your room ready rather than have you waiting in the lobby.
